The Holy Roller

Lemme tell ya a lil’ something about the Holy Roller surfboard. It’s a step-up without the extra length. A fuller nose outline with added foam under the chest (and even a subtle beak nose) allows for maximum paddling. The swept back, narrower thumbtail and thinned out knifey rails through the fins lets it lay over on rail with laser quickness. It’s ridden 2-3 inches shorter than a standard step-up. The shorter length let’s you get up and under the hood quicker and deeper in slabby conditions. Oh yeah…and it love to do open face carves.

Witness the o.g. Yeti @petemendia carving the turkey and stuffing gizzards somewhere in mexico a few days ago. Pete’s standard step-ups are 6’4"-6’6" x 19 1/4" x 2 11/16" 33.5L. This one is 6’2" x 19 3/8" x 2 3/4" 35L to give you an idea of the differential.

Holy Roller

You know those days when it’s well overhead and sweeping, and you feel like you could be riding a board that’s about a foot longer and 1/4” thicker to be able to nab the goodies that always seem to be just out of reach? …but then, once on the wave face, you don’t want all the extra nose length of a true gun getting clipped by the lip while your navigating through the barrel? Whatever can we do?

That’s what this board is for: paddles like a gun, but in a compact length. Using a fuller nose outline, wide point forward, a swept back tail, and volume down the center and under the chest. Medium to lower volume rails to keep it knifey and responsive, edgy and thinned out in the tail to draw surgical lines with flow.

The Holy Roller

It’s a compact board that allows you to “roll” in early and exclaim, “Holy!!”...because it gets you into those sacred and hard to harness places that usually only a gun or a board a foot longer will navigate you into. But you are able to get deeper into the tightest nooks of the barrel and re-direct turns more on the dime than a gunnier board can do.
